Poster 141: Does the Traditional TT-TG Distance Accurately Reflect the Relative Position of the Tibial Tubercle to the Trochlear Groove? A Three-Dimensional Analysis

چکیده
Objectives: The tibial tubercle to trochlear groove (TT-TG) distance often guides surgical decision- making for patellar instability. Traditional TT-TG measurements are limited by interrater reliability and lack of consideration variable anatomy throughout flexion. purpose this study was compare the traditional measurement three-dimensional measures generated from automated detection with sequential radial slices on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Methods: Twenty-four knees (4 healthy controls, 20 instability patients) were segmented into distal femur tibia models. A custom-designed program employed detect through its course based shortest origin in a polar (radial) axis defined femoral condyles. also identified surface projection center mass. medial-lateral between calculated first 45 degrees detected generate (rTT-TG) values. mean maximum rTT-TG values compared MRI performed one grader. Results: Mean significantly greater than (21.8 mm versus 17.9 mm, p=.003) moderate correlation (Pearson r = 0.59, p=.002). In Dejour C D dysplasia, trended towards being (C: 24.3 16.6 mm; D: 28.5 21.8 p=0.057 both comparisons). dysplasia demonstrated (27.9 p=0.029), similar trend (30.2 p=0.057). Conclusions: distances may underestimate true offset tubercle, particularly patients high- grade dysplasia. This represents potential alternative current standard techniques which improve automation. Our suggests that utilizing 3D via more accurately portray entrance offer standardized frequently used overcome reader reliability.

measure of lateralization of the tibial tuberosity in relation to femoral trochlea. Many studies have confirmed that lateralization of the tuberosity is linked to patellar instability, thus TT-TG is an important parameter for evaluation of patellofemoral disorders. However, the degree of lateralization that may contribute to actual dislocation varies among studies. Alemparte et al. studied heal...
